Development and characterization of novel microsatellite markers in Hyptis pectinata (Lamiaceae).
A microsatellite-enriched library was constructed and a set of 19 SSR markers were developed to characterize a germplasm collection of Hyptis pectinata (L.) Poit., maintained at the Universidade Federal de Sergipe (UFS). Fifteen markers of 19 ranged from moderately to highly polymorphic. A total of 113 alleles were identified, with a mean of 7.52 alleles per locus. The mean HO and HE were 0.582...
متن کاملDevelopment of microsatellite markers for Isodon longitubus (Lamiaceae)1
UNLABELLED PREMISE OF THE STUDY Microsatellite markers were developed for Isodon longitubus to study the natural hybridization of the species and its congeners. • METHODS AND RESULTS A total of 10 primer sets were developed for I. longitubus. From the initial screening, all of 10 loci were polymorphic with five to 19 alleles per locus in the Mt. Ishizuchi population, whereas nine loci were...
متن کاملIsolation and characterization of microsatellite markers for the cleistogamous species Lamium amplexicaule (Lamiaceae)1
UNLABELLED PREMISE OF THE STUDY Lamium amplexicaule is a cleistogamous plant that produces both closed flowers (obligately self-pollinated) and open flowers (potentially outcrossed). The conditions for the maintenance of such a mating system depend on the outcrossing rate of the open flowers, which can be estimated using neutral microsatellite markers. • METHODS AND RESULTS Forty primer pa...
متن کاملNovel polymorphic microsatellite markers isolated from the pen shell Atrina pectinata (Mollusca: Bivalvia: Pinnidae).
In this study, we isolated 21 novel polymorphic microsatellite DNA loci from the pen shell Atrina pectinata using magnetic-bead hybridization enrichment. The characteristics of these loci were tested using a population of 30 individuals collected from the Penglai coast, Shandong Province. The number of alleles ranged from 2 to 13, and polymorphism information content (PIC) varied from 0.1730 to...
متن کاملDevelopment and characterization of microsatellite markers in Cynara cardunculus L.
Cynara cardunculus L. is a species native to the Mediterranean basin that comprises 2 crops, globe artichoke (var. scolymus L.) and cultivated cardoon (var. altilis DC), as well as wild cardoon (var. sylvestris (Lamk) Fiori). Globe artichoke represents an important component of the South European agricultural economy but is also cultivated in North Africa, the Near East, South America, the Unit...
